Short version
We collect what you tell us (email, name, job preferences) and use
it only to score matches for you. We don't sell your data. We don't
share it with employers. You can delete everything at any time.
What we collect
- Email address, collected when you request a
sign-in link. Used to send you that link and, once digests ship by
email, your digest.
- Profile fields you submit: name, summary, titles
you're hunting, locations, seniority, comp floor, narrow skills, and
hard passes.
- Your resume, if you use "start from your resume":
read once, in memory, to prefill the signup form for your review. The
file and its text are never saved — only anonymous usage counts
(how many AI tokens the read cost) are recorded.
- Your actions on job listings: which you've
viewed, applied to, hidden, or marked as not a fit.
- Login activity: the date of your most recent
sign-in and how many times you've signed in. Used only to understand
overall product usage — how many people are using landsooner and
coming back — never to profile individual usage patterns beyond
that count. We deliberately do not keep a log of every sign-in.
Deleted along with your account.
- Feedback you submit, stored with your account so
we can follow up. Deleted with your account.
What we do with it
- Match live job listings to your profile using a language model
(Anthropic's Claude).
- Show you those matches in your digest.
- Track which you've engaged with so we don't re-surface them.
Support access
landsooner is one person. To debug a problem or answer something
you've written in about, that person can open your digest page —
exactly as you see it. It's read-only: nothing on that screen can
change your data or your status choices. Every use is recorded with a
timestamp and which account was opened, and those records are
hard-deleted with your account like everything else. Nobody outside
landsooner has this access.
Who we share with
- Anthropic: we send your profile and each candidate
job listing to Anthropic's Claude API for scoring — and, if you
upload a resume, its text for one extraction call (not stored by us
afterward). Anthropic's terms govern what they do with that data (they
do not train on API traffic).
- Resend: delivers our transactional email. They
see your email address and the content of emails we send you
(sign-in links, and in future your digest).
- Cloudflare: provides our domain's DNS and the
bot-check on our forms (which sees your IP address, as any web
request does). Standard infrastructure-provider terms apply.
- Nobody else. We do not share your data with
employers, recruiters, advertisers, or third parties.
What we don't do
- Auto-apply on your behalf.
- Show your profile to employers.
- Sell your data.
Data retention
We keep your profile and status data for as long as you have an
account. Job listings and match scores we've computed for you are
kept indefinitely for historical context (which reqs you saw when).
You can delete everything at any time via the
account page. Deletion is immediate and
irreversible; we do not keep backups. Sign-in link records (your email
plus a timestamp, kept briefly to limit abuse of the login form) are
removed on their own short schedule and at account deletion.
